The Metro Station Rohrdamm is a station of the Berlin U-Bahn - U7 in the district of Siemensstadt . It was opened on October 1, 1980 as part of the north-west extension of this line towards Spandau Town Hall . Until October 1, 1984, the Rohrdamm station was the terminus of this line. The train station is close to the intersection of Nonnendammallee and the Rohrdamm street, which gives it its name . The train station, which is designated in the BVG train station directory with the abbreviation Rm , has an escalator but no elevator, so it is called "not barrier-free ". The platform is 110 meters long.

Rainer G. Rümmler also designed the station for this station , with the surroundings playing an important role and motifs from the nearby industrial production of Siemenswerke were integrated into the wall design. The former headquarters of Siemens-Schuckertwerke and the switchgear high-rise built between 1926 and 1927, designed by Hans Hertlein, are also located above the station . Rümmler used numerous stylized gears and grids, the supports are covered with silver-gray metal cladding.

The Rohrdamm station has a parking facility that is used for individual misfiring trains and an adjoining rectifier plant. However, there is currently neither a guidance system for the blind nor an elevator in the station. At least the latter should not be installed until after 2010 according to the plans of the Berlin Senate . Should the financial situation of the Senate develop positively within the framework of the subway construction program, however, the construction of an elevator system would be possible due to the "[...] station [s] with high transfer numbers [...]" according to the local transport plan.

In March 2017, it was announced that the underground station - along with six others on the northern U7 - would be listed as a historical monument .

Connection

At the underground station you can change from the U7 line to the BVG bus lines 123 and 139 .
