Undulatus (un) ( lat. " Wavy " from unda "wave") are cloud spots, fields or layers, the appearance of which has patterns reminiscent of water waves . This wave formation can be observed in the case of relatively uniform cloud layers or also in clouds whose parts grow together or are separated from one another. Sometimes there is a double wave system. This name is mainly used for Cirrocumulus , Cirrostratus , Altocumulus , Altostratus , Stratocumulus and Stratus .
