Winrich Kolbe
Winrich "Rick" Ernst Rudolf Kolbe (born August 9, 1940 in Amsterdam ; † late September 2012 ) was an American director and producer of German origin.
Life
Winrich Kolbe was born in Amsterdam and became a US citizen in 1968. He began his career as a producer and director with Universal Pictures in the 1970s .
Kolbe was best known for his work on various Star Trek series. He also directed other well-known television series, such as Magnum , Knight Rider , In the Heat of the Night , JAG - On behalf of the honor or 24 . In 2002 he was hired as a director for the German film production Ice Planet . One of the main roles played here was Reiner Schöne , with whom Kolbe had already worked on an episode of Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century .
He ended his engagement at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia , where Kolbe had been teaching since October 2005, in 2007 for health reasons. His grave is in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles .
