I describe my wikiexperience as 70% browsing and 30% editing. I read and learn much more than I contribute. I don't consider myself to be an authority on much of anything, I am more of a well informed bystander than anything else. I used to just browse and edit without a user account for over a couple years. It was not until I actually wanted to create an article in 2006 that I created this account, and then I pretty well stopped using it until 2007 when I decided to do some major contributions to regional article around me, I think a user account makes the edits more credible. :) But now I am pretty much addicted to adding.. so I guess I will keep doing so. I am user Cool10191 over on the commons, but I am only ever there to upload stuff. Contacting me here is best. My preferred editing style is to use the King's English, but since I edit mostly American history stuff, I try my best to use American English.

I would like to get good enough at editing to write an FA. I feel that my primary fallacy is copy-editing. Give me a month of reading and re-reading and I can make something read fairly well, but still not quite good enough in my opinion. I have the MOS down pretty good, and am good an using citations and references.

Finally, I consider wikipedia a hobby, and I really detest drama and stress. While there have been a few incidents I have spoken up on, I generally prefer to stay out of the drama\politics\vitriol that is, quite unfortunately, rather common on this project. And instead I enjoy working with the few editors around me who are actually more interested in writing a good article, than enforcing their will on others.

Religion
I am a deep study of religions, especially protestant Christianity. I have a very wide knowledge on the subject and regularly skim religious articles.

I am very knowledgeable of branhamism and some other "odd-ball" sects of Christianity. I think it is very important to have a catalog of not just the sects but a little background information on the people involved in them and details on what sets them apart from other seemingly identical sects.

History
I also LOVE history. I try to add history sections on articles for the towns around me and other smaller things I am familiar with. I don't do much to edit the major topics I will leave that to the better historians, but if you want someone who knows a little bit about just about everything historical, I am your man. I am particularly well versed in European and Middle Eastern History from about 100CE-1825CE and especially knowledgeable of the histories of France, Britain, Moorish and Christian Spain, Italy, The Hapsburg Monarchy\Empire, The Ottoman and Seljuk Turkish Empires. I enjoy fighting arguing the Pro-Christian or Pro British\English position, as opposed to the position of the Sinister Frenchman or Murderous "Infidel". I am also (somewhat embarrassedly) fairly well versed in Latin. I do, however, find it most useful in reading many scholarly works as so many between the ancient era until the latter 1700s where at least partial Latin works.

Upcoming Wiki-Trip
I am planning to take another photo outing next month. If anyone wants some photos of places in southern Indiana, drop me a line on my talk page and I will see what I can do.

What I am Studying Now
I found two excellent new books at border's the other day. The one down on fourth street (Louisville) is amazing. I love the narrow escalator and the quaint atmosphere. Charming to be sure. I have this one book entitled a Short History of the Byzantine Empire. It is a condensed version of a three volume work, which after getting halfway into this book, I'm convinced I now want all three. Reading of Justinian, and how he saved the empire.. only for it to be destroyed by his predecessors, it almost bring you to tears! Plus! I found the most fantastic book I have come across in ages!!! All five books on the Gallic Wars put together in a single volume. One the left page, the original text in Latin! On the right page, a modern translation. It is so amazing to actually read the first hand account of something that happened over two thousand years ago.. Amazing!

I am looking for a book on the Crusader Kingdom to read next. But I'd settle for something on Angevin Empire so I can truelly understand the backstabbing, and generally deceitful and wicked ways, of the House of Capet. Le 'etat se mio, said the evil king...

Articles I watch and edit
Regional Articles
I have poured out most of my knowledge of local history. Pending a new major epiphany, I am putting my regular attention southern Indiana article on hiatus and will now focus on early Indiana History.

Religious Articles
I am watching and maintaining some oddball religious articles including:

*Branhamism

Banking\lending
I am currently watching, but not really editing:

*Refund Anticipation Loan

Historical\Biographical
This has pretty well turned into my Wikiproject Indiana. But I am still adding bits and pieces to other articles as I read books. I am also still watching the napoleon related articles. I am thinking of making significant additions to the article on Fouche and Talleyrand, but I am not sure yet.

I have made my goal, over half of the top importance articles are now GA status! Yay! I have also reassessed about 75% of all articles in the project, most of which are now on my watch list. I am checking IPs for vandalism daily. I have also spent some time working on government and history lately. I have made a template for both. Indiana history and Indiana government. I have a few thoughts on things I would like to do next. I was thinking about writing an even more detailed History of Indiana articlemdashI would need to split off sub articles. I was thinking History of Indiana (before 1787), History of Indiana (1787-1816), History of Indiana (1816-1899), History of Indiana (1900-1999). But I don't know if I want to put in that much effort right now. Short of that, I was thinking of writing numerous start to C class articles on various historical topics. I have did a few - Indiana Klan, Treaty of Grouseland, etc. I also want to go through all the county articles and begin an expansion of the government sections.
