The Battle of Skibo and Strathfleet was a Scottish clan battle that took place in 1480, in the Scottish Highlands. It was fought between men of the Clan Donald or MacDonald against men of the Clan Murray and Clan Sutherland. [1]

The MacDonalds from the isles, numbering 500 - 600, invaded Sutherlandshire and encamped near Skibo Castle. John, Earl of Sutherland sent Neil Murray (son or grandson of Angus Murray who was killed at the Battle of Drumnacoub) to oppose them. Neil Murray attacked them and killed one of the MacDonald chieftens named Donald Dow along with fifty others and the remaining MacDonalds escaped. [1]

Shortly afterwards another company of MacDonalds invaded Strathfleet in Sutherlandshire. They were attacked by Robert Sutherland (brother of John, Earl of Sutherland) and his men and the MacDonalds were defeated. [1]
