The questions 1-3 (as you already know) are the standard questions for all candidates on their RFA, this being the best way to express what you know about Wikipedia and how that knowledge can be applied using your discretion or prior experience. Hopefully it won't take you that long. :P

Questions for the candidate

1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?

A: I would like to concentrate my work on areas I'm already familiar with.

• WP:AfD and WP:CSD - I've nominated countless articles for speedy deletion so there's an area I feel I can work. Frequenting the CAT:CSD page would be on my list of priorities. I've also participated in AfD discussions where I currently perform non-admin closures. With the tools, I'd like to further my contributions there to actually carrying out deletions rather than only closing 'keeps.' I'm familiar with deletion polices so I feel I could make just decisions and use my discretion to either delete or keep an article.
• WP:AIV - I've reported 'x'-amount of users to AIV so that's another area I'd like offer my services to.
• WP:RFP - I've requested that many articles receive a protection, so here is another area I can work
• WP:PERM - Having used the rollback tool since January and also having contributed to WP:ACC (where I am also a tool admin) I think I can determine whether or not a user would make appropriate use of the rollback/accountcreator flags.
• WP:AN and WP:ANI I have both these noticeboards on my watchlist and have occasionally offered my opinions on subjects brought up so I would also like to use the tools to help resolve disputes bought up there.

2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?

A: I nominated Canterbury to GA after extensively enhancing it ([1]), also contributed greatly to Herne Bay now an FA, I've also rigorously enhanced Harry Potter as you can see here

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

A: I've had my fair share of conflicts (all can be viewed on my talk pages) but most, if not all, were vandals who have asked why their edits were reverted, or someone who has just seen their page deleted because I speedy tagged it. I've never engaged in any edit wars, and whenever I've become involved in conflicts, I have remained civil and cool, resolving it in an appropriate manner.

4. What is the difference between a ban and a block?

A: A block is the technical restriction from editing, whereas a ban is a community decision to restrict a users' activity which may be enforced by a block.

5. If another administrator removes material from an article and cites a BLP concern as the reason - but you believe the material does not violate BLP policy and should be included- what do you do?

A: Well if it was the other way around and the admin was adding material that violated BLP then I would ignore all rules, revert it and then leave them a friendly message. However, in this case, because they are only removing content rather than adding, I would leave it and leave a message on their talkpage.

Here are some questions from Wikipedia:Admin_coaching/Coaching_methods#Policy_Questions - an excellent area where you can brush up your knowledge of admin-related tasks. I will only ask a few though. :)

• What alternatives to speedy deletion are there?

• Explain how one goes about changing one's name (this question made me laugh :D)

• What is rollback?

• Somebody makes a legal threat, what do you do?

• What types of names can be blocked?

• What is the difference between protection and semi-protection?

• Can IP addresses be blocked indefinitely? Or if not, for what period of time and why?

• A page has been deleted several times, and keeps being recreated. What options do you have?

• You come across a page with material you consider to be highly libelous material on the page. Others don't believe it is, what should you do?

• You are involved in a content dispute with another editor that is starting to get nasty. The other editor then vandalizes your talk page. What do you do?

Area specific questions

• How can you determine whether a user is a sockpuppet of another? (SSP)

• Do promotional names get blocked on first sight, or do you have to wait for promotional contributions?

• How many times can an editor make the same edit before violating 3RR? Can an editor be blocked before they reach that number?
