Mark Edward Lewis, born 1954, is an American historian of ancient China. He received his B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago. Since 2002 he has been Kwoh-Ting Li Professor in Chinese Culture at Stanford University[1]. Previously he was a Reader at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Cambridge. He is the author of a number of books on ancient China.
