Copac is a union catalogue which provides free access to the merged online catalogues of many major university research libraries in the United Kingdom and Ireland, plus an increasing number of specialist libraries and the British Library, the National Library of Scotland and the National Library of Wales. It has over 35 million records[1] from over 50 libraries, representing a wide range of materials across all subject areas. Copac is freely available to all.[1]

Copac is searchable through an easy to use web interface as well as via a Z39.50 client. It is also accessible through OpenURL and SRU interfaces.[2]

Copac is a Mimas service based at the University of Manchester. It is funded by Jisc and uses records supplied by RLUK (Research Libraries UK)[3] and specialist libraries with collections of national research interest.[1] "Copac" is a registered trademark of the University of Manchester, no longer standing for CURL Online Public Access Catalogue.
