Initial Records was a punk and hardcore based label started in 1992 in a suburban Detroit Dunkin' Doughnuts by Andy Rich, Dennis Hepinstall, and Carolyn Smith. By the mid 90's most of the active bands on the roster were from Louisville, KY. Andy then moved the operation there and built it into one of the most important indy punk/hardcore labels in the midwest.

Notable releases include records from Pittbull, Guilt, Falling Forward, Elliott, boysetsfire, Planes Mistaken for Stars The Jazz June and Blood Red.
