Ranvir Singh is a news presenter and reporter for the regional BBC news programme, North West Tonight. Ranvir joined BBC Radio Lancashire in 2002 after gaining a postgraduate qualification in journalism at University of Central Lancashire in her native Preston. She also had a stint with BBC GMR, covering the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Her first degree was in English and Philosophy at Lancaster University.

She joined the North West Tonight team in 2005, as a journalist and bulletin presenter. Her first national TV presenting job came in April 2006 when she co - presented a play on Good Friday called Manchester Passion, which retold the last hours of Jesus Christ.

Ranvir is currently the education reporter and occasional host of the breakfast and late night bulletins. She is one of the presenters who fills in for Gordon Burns on the main 6.30 p.m. bulletin whenever he is absent.
