Concordia Newsletter

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!

  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
  • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

Hey dude, I hate to keep bothering you, but my userpage has been getting weirder and weider over the past month or so. First my boxen template broke, and now I have to click it an time to show the boxes (it starts by showing hide, then you click hide and it turns to show, then you click it again and the boxes finally show), then the border of my page stopped matching the border of my statusdiv template, and now the standard User:Clyde Miller title has shown up below my cool title name. Are these problems on just my computer, are they format changes for the entire encyclopedia, and is it fixable?--Clyde (talk) 22:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rock music Wikiproject invitation

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. Problem with an old image

Hi MOP! I came across a picture you had modified. There was a small problem with the image tag you had used. It should have been tagged as GFDL as the original image by Srikeit was tagged under GFDL. You can't release it into public domain as the copyright does not belong to you. This image was used in a newspaper in India without attribution to Srikeit. Could you take a look at more pictures that you may have modified for similar errors, just in case? If you are wondering why this issue was noticed now, see this discussion on the Indian noticeboard. Hello! I saw your question about how to respond to something like this. My immediate thought was that this was some kid in-between classes, posting some nonsense. The tip-off was "you can run but you can't hide..." Presumably, if the poster really was a Director of Technology, s/he is an adult and would respond to you in a more mature fashion. My response would have been to ignore him/her, or reply with something like, "Hilarious. Go back to class now." Just my 2 cents. Threats don't get far with me. I appreciate it. :) I differ from you in the fact that I have a soul I like to treat all things that impact the mainspace seriously, and I admitted to Tony that I thought it most likely wasn't the director of technology, as anyone with even a high school diploma would know better than to tell someone they're going to track them down. However, I did get an email from that editor a while later which seemed much more professional; I'm pretty sure that a student noticed the site, conversed with me, then notified the director. Or I may just be gullible, who knows.
