The Jiji Line (集集線) is a branch line of the Taiwan Railway Administration. Which is located in Changhua and Nantou County. The length of the line is 29.7km.

History

The line was originally built by Taipower to facilate the construction of power plants in Sun Moon Lake. Afterwards, the colony government purchased the route in 1927.

The line was severely damaged in the Chi-Chi earthquake on 21 September 1999, but was reconstructed later.

Operation

The headway between each number of runs is about two hours. Only one train can run on this route at any given time since there is single track. All trains run between Ershuei and Checheng. Some of them have thorough service between Changhua City and Taichung City.

Stations and fares

Jiji line can't use RFID smartcard includes Easycard.

Fares through the line "as Ershuei to Chechang" is $44 by mileage, fare by MRT will be $55.
One day pass fare is $80, can be purchased at Jhunan, Miaoli, Fongyuan, Taichung, Changhua, Yuanlin, Tianjhong, Ershuei, Dajia, Shalu, Douliu, Dounan, Chiayi Stations.

Note:Fare of MRT calualtion is $20 for 5km intinal, extend fare is $5 every 3.5 km distance stretchs.
