Béri Balogh Ádám was born in Vas country, around 1665 and died in Buda in 1711. He was one of the most famous Kuruc colonel of the Hungarian army, who was from a noble family.
Life
He was born in a Catholic noble family, his father István Balogh died in 1678 his mother was Rebeka Káldy also a catholic noble lady. Balogh married to Julianna Festetics and they had seven childes. He was in service in his young age as the infantry's voivode in Csobánc castle, and took a part in the campaigns against the Turkish wars. In 1705 he was an action where the Kuruc troops almost captured the Austrian king around Vienna. Francis II Rákóczi promoted him colonel in 1708. He was executed in 1711 by Habsburgs in castle of Buda. Francis II Rákóczi tried to save him, but it wasn't successful.
Recollection
He has still famous position in the Hungarian literature, also in the film world of Hungary. He is character of Captain of Tenkes movie.
