Template:Future sport The 2011 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred to as the 2011 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, is the 2011 edition of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and will be hosted in the United States.[1] Buffalo, NY has bid to host the tournament, and could possibly approach any of Rochester, NY, Niagara Falls, ON, and St. Catharines, ON to help host the event.[2] Co-host of the 2005 tournament, Grand Forks, ND, also submitted a bid to host the 2011 tournament.[3] In addition, Detroit, MI has been mentioned as a possible host city.[4] The host city is expected to be announced by USA Hockey later in 2008.[2]
