Your Show Time was a midseason replacement television anthology series that debuted on NBC in January of 1949 and ran until late summer. It featured half-hour dramatizations of stories by renowned authors such as Mark Twain, Arthur Conan Doyle, Victor Hugo and Arthur Conan Doyle. The stories were either self-contained, such as The Adventure of the Speckled Band, or chapters from full-length novels, such as The Bishop's Experiment, from the section featuring the bishop in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. One episode, The Necklace, from the short story by Guy de Maupassant, won an Emmy Award in 1950.

The show featured appearances by such actors as Hurd Hatfield, Selena Royle, Alan Napier, and Melville Cooper.
