Messad (sometimes Messaad) is a town in Algeria. It is about 180 miles south of Algiers. During the Roman period, Messad was a prosperous village.[2] It hosted a Roman garrison, the most southerly in the area, known at the time as Castellum Dimmidi, at least from AD 198 to 238.
