Normanhurst Boys High School is a selective, non-denominational, high school for boys located in Normanhurst, a northern suburb in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. School statement of purpose
To provide our students with the opportunity to maximise their academic outcomes within a holistic educational environment. (Revised in 2003)
History
On the 28 January 1958, Normanhurst Boys High School was opened as a comprehensive boys high school. It was designated a selective school from the commencement of the 1994 school year and received its first intake of 120 boys in that year. From 1999 the school became fully selective with a student population of approximately 720. The school has an area of 63,000 square metres within 5 minutes walk of the Normanhurst railway station. The grounds are very pleasant with trees and extensive grassed areas. In past years the students, staff and parents/caregivers have built a fine reputation of good behaviour, good academic results and good sporting achievements. The school anticipates that future students will further enhance the reputation of the school in these areas. Many traditions have continued over the years: the School Motto, the School badge, the School colours and School Song are part of the school’s heritage.
