The album was recorded, engineered and produced by Adrian Utley,[4] guitarist with the band Portishead. Volk started recording a new album in January 2011, again working with Utley, as well as Emmy nominated composer Ben Salisbury.[5]

His last solo performance in the UK was in 2009 at the Colston Hall,[6] Bristol. He performed with the Bristol Ensemble chamber orchestra as part of the 'Invada Invasion'[7][8] event curated by Geoff Barrow.
