Paul Gerrard (born January 22, 1973), is an English football goalkeeper currently playing for Nottingham Forest. He is 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in).

Biography

Paul William Gerrard was born on Monday 22nd January 1973 in Heywood North Manchester.In his late teens he was a goalkeeping apprentice at Oldham Athletic under Joy Royle.Making his debut in the Premiership at the age of 19 on Saturday, 5th December 1992 in a 3-2 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.Paul soon made 118 League apps for the Latics.

Joe Royle was made Manager at Everton in November 1994 after Mike Walker Everton reign ended after 11 month. Nearly 2 years since Royle left Oldham he returned to Oldham to buy promising youngter Paul Gerrard for £1million in July 1996.Paul's debut was coming on for Neville Southall at half time in a 7-1 win at home to Southampton on Saturday, 16th November 1996, After Royle left and Southall soon retunrned between the stick for the toffees Gerrard moved to Oxford Utd in 1997 for regular action.

Howard Kendall was soon Royle predecessor at Goodison Park and Gerrard returned from Oxford.Despite some game as Kendall's number one, Kendall was uncertian with Paul Kendall soon moved to pick Southall and new signing Thomas Myre at time ahead of Gerrard. Walter Smith arrived but Gerrard was still a regular at Goodison Park and after knocking out Abel Xavier instead of punching the ball Gerrard was soon dropped by Smith.

Royle now at Ipswich swooped to sign Gerrard on Loan and he soon returned to Everton due to Injury in the 2002/2003 season.Neil Warnock soon signed Gerrard the following season seeing Paddy Kenny was injured.Later that season new Nottingham Forest boss Joe Kinnear signed Gerrard for the last 2 months of the season in March 2004.Paul Kept a clean sheet againest Crewe in a game Forets won 2-0 at the City Ground.
