The Tipperary Senior Hurling Club Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Cidona Tipperary Senior Hurling Club Championship) is an annual club competition between the top Tipperary Clubs. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Club Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Club Championship. The current Dublin County Champions are Thurles Sarsfields who became champions with a win over Drom-Inch. The final score was Thurles Sarsfields 1-17 Drom-Inch 0-15. Sarsfields first title since 1974.The Tipperary senior hurling championship is probably the most complicated system in Ireland as it tries to accomadate 25 teams. A knockout divisional system and group backdoor system has been introduced to accomadate these teams. Before the new system the county championship was run on a divisional basis with the teams in the divisional finals going into the county quarter-finals and proceding from there.

History

The first Tipperary Hurling Championship took place in 1887, Thurles were the first Tipperary Champions. Thurles Sarsfields have won the most titles (29).
