Hi. I edited the [[Keane]] article a few moments ago. I often use the preview to prevent mistakes editing. I checked everything was doing fine on this and uploaded it. However, when seeing the article again, I found that instead of being 31 references, there were 62, all repeated. Even the article references start with the number 32. I edited again the article and previewed. Now, the references were again numbered until 31 so I uploaded it again. For my surprise, there were 62 references again. I also checked for the history page and it also shows my last edit as having only 31 references. See this [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Keane&diff=72503642&oldid=72502018]). I don't know what can I do to revert this. Can someone help me? [[User:Fluence|Fluence]] 00:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Richard hughes.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Richard hughes.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. feydey 23:25, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Under The Iron Sea R.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Under The Iron Sea R.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Keane articles

Hey, good work keeping up with the Keane articles. Here's the issue: there's no current need to separate the articles by CD 1 and CD 2, we can do that in the song articles. The problem is that some countries will have maxi-singles, others none issued at all, so it's easier to keep all the info in one place.

Thanks for the help, keep up the good work. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEMES?) 22:23, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I also suggest not making separate articles for the songs and singles? No other band has that. Thanks. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEMES?) 22:31, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's your rationale for continuing to do this? Can we try to reach some sort of concensus here? --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEMES?) 23:12, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LOOK!

A COOKIE for you! Now, start paying as much attention to image copyrights as you do to Keane! Please ask me for help if you need it - I'd be happy to assist a fellow wikiteen. :) Regardless, please please please start adding copyright tags - users have been blocked for uploading lots of tagless images, and I wouldn't want that to happen to you. Your fair use rationale was spectacular, however. Next time just add the tag, too! Verloren Hoop 03:21, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're quite welcome :) You know how to add it now, then? anytime you don't know how to do something, really, feel free to ask me, I don't mind at all. Much wikilove, Verloren Hoop 19:52, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I could not reply to you earlier. I was busy actually..anyway I haven't had the time to listen to any other Keane Song except 'Is it any wonder'. I like this song and since you say that 'Frog Prince' is better..I might as well check it out! Hope to hear from you soon.Victoria Eleanor 11:18, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's great...being the first person from the American Continent to hear UTIS!!!! Anyway are you a follower of football? If you are then I must say that was a great win over Iran 3-1! England too won their match vs Paraguay but then with only one goal that to Paraguay's own goal...but the most important thing is we won!Victoria Eleanor 14:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And Yes....

I award this Barnstar to Fluence for putting great efforts in creating articles on Keane's singles which I think is a major contribution to Wikipedia where music is concerned. Keep up the good work!Victoria Eleanor 15:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You've made full use of being a Wikipedian. Good work!Victoria Eleanor 15:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

For your best wishes to England. Same to Mexico! Actually people in England are just into football when it comes to sports, but where I come from, it's a little more of cricket than football. And nevermind the barnstar...barnstars are given to people who deserve them and you're one of them..I mean starting so many articles of music singles is definately not a joke. I just start biographies of artists and I don't think i'd be able to start articles on singles....so thumbs up to you!Victoria Eleanor 14:59, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Polyforum Cultural

So you're Mexican, huh? Well it's good to have you here, even if you do seem to be having trouble with image licensing.

I saw Image:MexicoWTC.jpg, which you uploaded. It is a fantastic picture, but you tagged it as public domain and then gave a fair use rationale. These are two totally different licenses. If you have to give a rationale, it is a pretty good indication that the image is not in the public domain.

I just want to point out two other small things: First, you say "The image does not have apparent copyright". It may be true that there is no little "c" in a circle, but in fact, most images, regardless of whether or not they are marked as copyrighted, are in fact copyrighted. So the apparency of a copyright has no bearing on whether or not an image actually is copyrighted.

Secondly, you state, "Anyway, you can stop at the middle of Insurgentes and shot the picture".

That is precisely the point behind Wikipedia. It is about people taking individual initiative to increase the accessibility of humanity's knowledge via the creation of a free and universal encyclopedia. That initiative includes not only vandalfighters, bureaucrats, editors, and wikignomes and faries, but also photographers. So if it is so easy, then take the picture on your own camera, and if you have the graciousness, upload it and release it under the terms of the GFDL. Since it will be your picture, you will be the copyright owner, and you will be allowed to do what you want with that right, including releasing it to the world. That's how we make a better encyclopedia, and it's also why Wikipedia has some of the most unique images on the web.

I'm going to tag it {{PUIdisputed}} and list it on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images, where the discussion will be held. I invite you to drop in there, or on my talkpage, to discuss.

Thanks for your contributions, --Rockero 01:47, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Fluence. I edited the Richard Hughes article today. I changed the references from "Richard" to "Hughes" because it's more encyclopedic. I also rephrased the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph; let me know if I captured the meaning right. Also, a clarification question: did Hughes write "Put it Behind You" or did another band member write it about him? JordeeBec 16:11, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We Lost...and Brazil lost too!!!

I feel like killing Rooney just now for his stupid foul and it's high time Beckham quits captaincy[which he has actually] but i'm more surprised at the fact that Brazil went down to France 1-0. So basically me and my friends, we partied whole night, not because we lost but because Brazil are finally out of the World Cup!! Now my only hope is Germany. Hopefully they'll win! And Germany too...(Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!)

I can't belive it myself! Now i'm kind of neutral. I'm not supporting any team though so i'll just be predicting the scores and waste my time doing that! Well since your supporting France for a cool reason(Renault cars), I wish you luck on that!Victoria Eleanor 15:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rare Keanes Song

I have found Rare Keanes song called "The Man Who Bum Crow" and wondered whether you know about this? I can maybe let you have this if you reply here - it is the sad song of a homeless. I saw your profile and that you like Keans and maybe I can help ^_^

Hi

I've look for it on the official Keane forum and it doesn't appear. Maybe is from one of those other bands or people called keane (e.g. Keane Brothers). Would be nice if you tell me where did you find this:)--Fluence 22:45, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS. I erased the fact about Tom's face. I think is sort of offensive despite he's not my favourite member but sometimes this little details can get worse if published

You have to admit he has a really big face though

Thank you so much!

Thanks for the Barnstar! I hadn't even expected one! It's such a great surprise and i'm so happy you were able to understand my contributions to music[my life]! As for helping you in getting featured status for Keane you can count on me any time mate!Victoria Eleanor 16:11, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S- Sorry about the French defeat. But when there is a hope there is a way! Hopefully we will perform better in 2010!

Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:07, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi!!!

Sorry I could'nt keep in touch, I was kind of busy the past week. Anyway I saw Tim's pic and I think it's really cool, a lot better than the previous one! Moreover i'm so happy that the tim rice-oxley page has got a lot of feedback! I had never imagined so many users coming in and adding info to an article which I started!! Anyway don't lose hope on the SOWK article. You can still achieve featured status for it! Good Luck!Victoria Eleanor 07:11, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No Problem

about the SOWK featuring support. Best of Luck this time!! Anyway I finally bought Under The Iron Sea and it's a great piece of work by Keane. And yes Frog Prince is a really great feel-good song. I really liked the album! Victoria Eleanor 14:31, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re [1]

If there are no legitimate edits to a page after an instance of vandalism, one can select the history tab on the page, select the last good version of the page prior to the vandalism, then edit and save this old version of the page without modifying it. The page will be reverted to the version you selected. A request for an administrator to block a vandal can be made on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Before vandals can be blocked, however, they must ordinarily be warned using appropriate templates. These templates, and additional information about countervandalism efforts, are described on Wikipedia:Vandalism. Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. Hello!

I went through the Keane article and found that there have been tremendous edits from what I saw in February. I really like your determination and will to get these articles a featured status. Keep it up! And i've given my comment on the Keane featured articles page. I'll try to get in more keane fans to comment on this article since almost all are unaware of the existence of the page.Victoria Eleanor 14:52, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keane

I realise that you are fan of Keane. That's great. But bear in mind that we are not making a publicity page of Keane and we are not obliged to conform with your wishes to have just that. I am trying as some people to have good and informative articles about these bands. Not publicity page with many info about what kind of shoes bandmembers are wearing. This information about just how well and where the band is received by the public is highly redundant and irrelevant to the type and goal of band's articles. If you browse in other post-Britpop and Britpop bands you wouldn't find any kind of information, found here. So, please, try to be reasonable and try to assume some good faith, as people like to hoarse around. I know that it must be hard to see all of you've written to go down the trashcan, but we are working on collaborative project and we are not obliged to conform with hard-liners, who want to have their "dream article", where the band are on high pedestal. The best thing you can do is to help us. But, please, please do not hinder mine and other people work.

I'm reverting the article back in form.

I am not going to give up, man. Individual country likeness of the band is redundant information. And please have a look at all these bands the band are citing as influence. Do The Beatles, U2, Oasis, R.E.M., Genesis, The Smiths, Radiohead, Queen, The Pet Shop Boys and Paul Simon have information about how well they are received in different countries? No. Do they have such an extensive information about the equipment the band are using? No, dude. Please, have a look and you will find that what I am doing is right. I am not defending the quality of the material, but this material needs that trimming, man. We are aiming for extensive, informative and well-formed articles. Not for biography/books about these bands. I have worked on Oasis, Radiohead, R.E.M.. They bear my writings and I am just as great fan of them as you are of Keane. But, it's not about being fan. Well... in fact it is, but it's about doing the best for this. What you want is wrong man. This information is redundant, encumbrant and useless. Think it for yourself and I think that you will find it it's the most logical think to do.

I will not revert the article now. It's late. I am having great pain in my back and I need rest. I will do it tomorrow, however and I certainly hope that I will not have this discussion again.

Just to let you know, on your case, I am calling for help from the Wikipedian Association of Members' Advocates, where I refered my problem with you at their Requesting page. You can feel free to turn yourself up there and express your point of view. I hope that as soon as possible we will have some resolution on this problem, because I assure you that my patience has its limits.

In my opinion you are fighting lost battle, but you just want to be as pigheaded and unhelpful, as possible.

Regards: Painbearer 08:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are just going to make it as difficult as possible, will you? Ok, the choice is yours, but I have to warn you that your actions may lead to your temporary blockage of Wikipedia. Personally, that's what I am for. My personal advice is to cool out. Find some girl, make some sex if you want, I don't care, just cool out and stop being such an asshole. Because, you are just heading to more trouble than you can handle.

Regards: Painbearer 07:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Painbearer you are getting personal. Dont let it - its not important enough. Fluence, please consider comments made. I have taken to editing your work because it is not yet ready for being a good candidate. Consider the grammar you use. Clearly English is not your first language so learn from what others are editing. Revert wars gain nothing however providing information on where Keane have visited - only the countries - is pointless. What does it tell anyone? I know you have put a lot of time into this however I would be happy to stop reverting if there was more information on where they played - yes 361 places or whatever. --Snecklifter 14:12, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About Tom Chaplin

Hi. Recently, some unregistered user has been vandalising the article about Tom Chaplin, telling sarcastic comments about the person. However, even the talk page of the article has been vandalised. I believe you cannot edit other persons comments on the talk page so I'm asking for help to: 1.-protect the page for eviting vandalism again 2.-retire or at least do something about the vandalised talk page I've reverted the last vandalism but I wish this wouldn't happen again. So, what can I do? Fluence 23:35, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have cleaned up some of it and blocked the most recent offending IP. I have semi-protected the article so that only established user accounts can edit (i.e., no IPs and no brand-new accounts). If something like this happens in the future, you can request at WP:RFPP to have a page protected or semi-protected, and for blatant vandalism you can post the IP or username at WP:AIV. —Centrxtalk • 23:53, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very muchFluence 23:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No!!!

That's really bad! That idiot...does he even know who the hell Keane is??! I'll help you with the reverting so don't worry. And sorry for the Keane dropout...I don't think people understand when we say that there are only 2 websites on this planet where we can get some info! Have a look at Tom Caplin's discussion and have a look at the last message on my talk. Victoria Eleanor 14:38, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting proble

Hi. I edited the Keane article a few moments ago. See this [2]). I don't know what can I do to revert this. Can someone help me? Fluence 00:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking now, i'll try and fix it, and/or get back to you shortly. Also: when using {{helpme}}, try not to put a space between help and me :). I'll get back to you --Deon555talkReview 00:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
