Jay Daniel is an electronic musician, producer, and selector from Detroit, Michigan, United States. In addition to his own label, Watusi High, Jay has released music on Sound Signature, Wild Oats, and most recently released his debut album, 'Broken Knowz' on Ninja Tune.[1]

Career

In September of 2013, Jay released his first EP, "Scorpio Rising", on Detroit legend, Theo Parrish's label, Sound Signature. Months later, in February of 2014 Daniel released another EP, Karmatic Equations (WOJD01), on fellow Detroit native Kyle Hall's label, Wild Oats.[2] In May of 2015, Jay Daniel launched his very own label, 'Watusi High', with the release of his two-track "School Dance" EP.[3] After 3 years of creative build-up, Jay Daniel released a much anticipated debut LP on Ninja Tune; since it's release, 'Broken Knowz' has been met with positive critical response.[4][5][6][7]
