Lin Yun (Chinese: 林允; pinyin: Lín Yǔn; born April 16, 1996), is a Chinese actress. She is known for her role as the female lead ('The Mermaid') in the 2016 film The Mermaid. She is also sometimes known as Jelly Lin or Jelly Lin Yun in English.

Biography

Lin was born Fei Xia (费霞) in Huzhou, Zhejiang, on April 16, 1996. Her father, Fei Jianhua (费建华), is a porter, and her mother is a housewife.[1] She studied at the Huzhou No. 12 Middle School.[1] She then attended a performing arts school in Beijing. At the age of 18 and with little acting experience, she was cast as the female protagonist Shan, aka the "Mermaid", in the 2016 film The Mermaid, directed by Stephen Chow.[2][3]
