The K & O started opperations of the railroad line at 12:01 A.M. on June 30th 2001. The property was purchased from OmniTrax Corporation that has been operated as their Central Kansas Railway. Kansas & Oklahome also assumed operations of CKRYs sister Railroad Kansas Southwestern Railroad on the same date.
