Thamnocephalidae is a family of crustaceans with widespread world distribution including Western Australia and Southern Africa, notably the Makgadikgadi Pans of Botswana. A species within this family, Branchinella spinosa, is found in the seasonal lake bed of the Nwetwe Pan in Botswana.[2]
