Crustacean is a Dutch death and thrash metal band from Tilburg , which was founded in 1989 under the name Crystal Lake .
history
The band was founded in July 1989 under the name Crystal Lake by drummer JVI and guitarist NVZ. This was followed by various line-up changes and a demo tape. The band also made their first appearances, playing with bands like Spina Bifida and Disharmonic Orchestra . In the summer of 1993, some members also played with Spinal Bifida and Master . Another demo called Rip Off was recorded in February at the Double Noise Studio in Tilburg. When the demo was released, the band called themselves Crustacean from then on. A few songs from the demo also appeared on the compilation No Sleep 'Til Burg . The band then signed a contract with Double Noise Records , so that in January 1995 the EP Headcleaner was released. After an extensive line-up change, the debut album Burden of Our Suffering was released by Teutonic Existence Records . In 2000 the band recorded the EP Satanized , which was released as a download . In April 2001 a second album was recorded, which was released in February 2003 under the name Insaniac via Cold Blood Industries . In 2011 the third album Greed, Tyranny and Sodomy followed on Xtreem Music .
style
The band plays a mixture of death and thrash metal, with the band turning almost completely to thrash metal with their latest album. Musically, the band is reminiscent of Slayer , while the lyrics are reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine .
