Disharmonic Orchestra is an Austrian death metal / grindcore band. It was founded in 1987 in Klagenfurt. First two demos were released. Their breakthrough came after an appearance with Pungent Stench as the main group, which brought them a record deal with Nuclear Blast in 1989 . The first record was a joint one with the Austrian band Pungent Stench, which was also under contract with Nuclear Blast. They later released two separate albums under the Nuclear Blast label. For the third album they were signed by Steamhammer .
The albums all sound very different. The band took a break in 1994 . This break lasted until 2002 , when they first reissued their debut album Expositionsprophylaxe in a new edition. The latest album is called Fear of Angst .
