Nikolai Andrianov
Nikolai Efimovich Andrianov (Russian:Николай Ефимович Андрианов) (b.October 14 1952 in Vladimir, Russian SFSR) was a Soviet/Russian gymnast. He holds the record for men for most Olympic medals at 15 (7 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 3 bronze medals). Andrianov is the second athlete by this count after Larisa Latynina, who earned 18 Olympic medals, Larisa holds the record for women.
Andrianov entered the Children and Youth sports school "Burevestnik" in Vladimir at age 11. His trainer was the Honoured Trainer of the USSR Nikolai Tolkachev. Andrianov's first international success was in 1971 on the European Championships in Madrid, where he won two gold medals. Between 1971 and 1980 he was the first on many international gymnastics competitions, including the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships.
Andrianov married another famous Soviet gymnast, two times Olympic Champion Lyubov Burda. Since 2002 Andrianov is the director of gymnastics Specialized Children and Youth sports school in Vladimir.
