Biography

Ellen Simonetti, aka "Queen of Sky" (born December 1974) is a divorced American blogger, writer, and fired flight attendant.

She was born in North Carolina in December 1974. She was raised in Durham and Raleigh as the youngest of three siblings. In high school Simonetti went to Bern, Switzerland for a year as an exchange student. She later dropped out of high school and became a travel agent and later a flight attendant. She started with her first airline, a charter airline based in Miami, Florida, in 1996 at the age of 21. After the charter went out of business a few months later, she was hired by Delta Air Lines. She had an 8-year career with Delta, during which time she finished her B.A. in Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin and flew German, Spanish, and Italian routes with the airline.

Suspension and Subsequent Firing

In late 2004, Simonetti was suspended[1] and then fired [2]for posting photographs of herself onboard a Delta aircraft while in uniform, leaning over the seats with her shirt unbuttoned and her bra showing, as well as with her skirt hiked up to show a decent amount of her thighs, and for comments that Delta Airlines felt were inappropriate in her blog, then titled "Diary of a Dysfunctional Flight Attendant." She was, of course, wrong for doing these things, and noone knows to this day what she was thinking, especially as she is so unattractive to begin with. She filed a lawsuit against Delta in 2005, alleging sex discrimination and retaliation, among other things, when clearly we can all see that she really has no idea what either term actually means.[3] Her suit is currently pending while Delta Air Lines remains in bankruptcy. The law.com website alleges her suit was dismissed without prejudice by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on October 28, 2005.[4]. Queen of Sky has however stated on her blog that her lawsuit for sexual discrimination against Delta Airlines has not been dismissed but Delta did raise an objection, the details of which she has provided in this reference.[5]

After Dismissal By Delta Airlines

Her blog is now entitled "Diary of a FIRED Flight Attendant." In late 2006 Simonetti published a book, entitled Diary of a Dysfunctional Flight Attendant: The Queen of Sky Blog. [6] She auctioned the first copy on ebay it sold for $260.[7]

After being fired from Delta Airlines, she joined the Red Cross as a volunteer and wrote about her experience on her blog.[8] She also began writing blogs complaining about the Red Cross and how she was treated there, because she clearly MUST complain about everything in life. She is just one of those people.

She joined the Comittee to Protect Bloggers. .[9] The Committee To Protect Bloggers has now ended.[10]

She regularly appears on TV and Radio shows to discuss the issue of blogging whilst employed.

She was regularly complained about by other people. "My Opinions on Queen of sky"

Critics and Contraversial Aspects of her Blog.

Some people, however, are not fans of Ms. Simonetti. There exists an alternate hate blog devoted to Queen of Sky located at http://ihatequeenofsky.journalspace.com. or on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DDANsLtZ88 "My Opinions on Queen of sky"

On her blog she claimed that many of the Elderly Members of staff at her airline which she referred to as Senior Mamas did not get on [11] and she also did this in her book[12] She also claimed that the safety of the airplanes at Delta was being compromised by the outsourcing of maintenance to foreign countries. [13]

She also accused of accepting advertisements for a hardcore pornography site, SWYDM.com, on her journalspace journal and of including a screenshot of a different hardcore pornongraphy website. She claimed not to know SWYDM included hardcore pornography because, on its face, it appears to be a match-making site. She pulled the ads after becoming aware of the site's content. [14]

On page 36 of her book she has made racial comments against certain white people saying she does not like "white trash". [15]

Much later her notoriety was to be beaten by the story of an Australian flight attendant having sex on a plane while on duty with an actor. .[16] Elllen provided information about the best way to achieve this on her blog[17]
