Birchington-on-sea is a town in Thanet, Kent. Officially it is actually still a village, although it is reputed to be one of the largest in the UK, with a population of around 10,000. It used to be a popular seaside holiday destination, and is also known for its connection with the artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his sister, the poet Christina Rossetti.
