Hajime Komoto (こうもと はじめ) is a Japanese writer, illustrator, and author who is best known for writing the manga series Mashle. The series was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023, and its chapters were collected in 18 tankōbon volumes.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

History

Kashiwa originally submitted the short comic "Explosive Interview" (Explosive Interview) to Shueisha in 2018 under the name "Kashiwazaki Koichi" and won the 89th Akatsuka Award Honorable Mention. Later, he drew a short comic "Liberal Ethics Committee Member Yamada Taro" (Liberal Ethics Committee Member Yamada Taro ) under the same name and published it in "Jump GIGA"; in the same year, he changed his name to "Kouichiro" (こういちろう) and published in "Jump GIGA" A short comic titled "God of Destruction Shivasaki" (God of Destruction Shivasaki).[10][11][12]

Starting from 2020, Koumoto Kazuo will be able to officially serialize the comic "Muscle Magician -MASHLE-" in "Weekly Shonen Jump" on the 9th, 2020, becoming his first full-length comic work. "Muscle Magician -MASHLE-" immediately won the 11th place in the " Next Popular Manga Award 2020", the 8th place in the "Everyone's Choice Tsutaya Manga Award 2021" and "Recommended by bookstore clerks nationwide" 3rd place in "Comics 2021". The comic ended on the 31st of 2023, ending the three-and-a-half-year serialization.[13][14][8][15]

Professional career

Working Experience

In 2018, Explosive Interview Exam received an honorable mention at the Akatsuka Prize (under the name of Koichi Kashiwazaki). In 2019, he made his debut with Liberal Discipline Committee Yamada Taro.[16][17][18]

In 2020, his first serialization, MASHLE , began in issue 9 of Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). The same work won 11th place in the Next Manga Award 2020 and 3rd place in 2021 Recommended Comics Chosen by National Booksellers. The series will end in issue 31 in 2023.[19][20][21]
