Plot

It is Christmas once again in the Bucket residence, Hyacinth has 112 cards, although most are sent to herself. She plans on giving out presents to the old folks at the church hall - with Richard dressed as Father Christmas. Daisy, Onslow and Rose discover Daddy has gone missing again, but Rose is too busy awaiting her latest gentleman friend, Mr. Sugden, to appear. He is an excellent dancer and it seems true love between them. Hyacinth pushes Richard outside in his suit, but he takes shelter in Elizabeth's house. Emmet manages to give Richard and drink or too, and he becomes drunk. Elizabeth dresses up in his costume and pretends to be Richard, driving Hyacinth to the church hall. They meet the Thorganbys on the way, Mr. Thorganby being Richard's boss. This meeting leads to Richard's forced early retirement. Hyacinth discovers Daddy in the hall causing problems and the arrival of Daisy, Onslow and Rose. Hyacinth puts Daddy in a large cat costume and manages to sneak him outside to Daisy with help from Elizabeth, Richard and Onslow. Rose tries her luck with both Emmet and the Vicar, but Hyacinth shoves the Vicar into the hall. Onslow mistakes Hyacinth for Elizabeth due to her wearing the Father Christmas suit and kisses her on the lips, much to his and her surprise. Hyacinth, slightly dazed, invites everyone back to her house for a meal.
