Hi, please leave a message.
Old Discussions are chronologicaly located here in the Pitt of Doom, possibly in the slightly less smelly Pitt of Doom Mark II, potentially in the frankly festering Pitt of Doom the Third, possibly in the rather rank Pitt of Doom goes Fourth, relatively recent ones are in the Doom Pitt v. 5.0 and very new ones (mainly RFA associated) are in the Pittus Doomus Maximus VI

Please leave new comments at the bottom of the page. Please sign you name if you'd be so kind by typing four tildes e.g. ~~~~ at the end of your message.

Congratulations Pedro! Remember this discussion? How time flies...and this time my offer was successful. Methinks you owe me something :P Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 22:30, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you could start by joining Category:Rouge admins...while you're there, check out the image I made for it (and put that no your userpage :p). And of course you could nom me when the time comes :) Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 07:29, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Methinks I'll be running some time soon - probably at the turn of the month. But sooner if you go rouge :P Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 07:50, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Captmondo comments

Thanks for the clarification. I totally thought, obviously, that you were referring to me considering I was the only other vote. As far as my own RfA. I'm torn. The community consensus for the unwritten criteria, so to speak, seemed quite out of reach a few weeks ago. I'm so busy with GA, I don't have time for much else, so my experience isn't as broad as it could be. Add to that my disinterest in XfD and it seemed a sure failure. Also, it seemed to me that admins get hassled way too much, and as a person that has problems refusing requests, I'd never get those things important to me done, however, I've noticed in recent days that several admins have small talk pages, to say they don't get a lot of requests. So I suppose your level of participation in admin areas would determine the amount of traffic on your talk page.

Regardless, I get offered a nomination about once a week or so. I'm sure I'll accept eventually... When I'm more certain that the regular participants in RfA at that time aren't going to oppose for arbitrary bullshit. It takes too much time to go through RfA if it's a failure, for me anyway. With a to-do list longer than my intestines, I just can't do it now. However, as a much needed break from GA, I will continue to participate at RfA. But look at my WKT count and see if you think I'd be successful. LaraLove 15:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Well, have a good day. Look over them when you can b/c I am interested to get an opinion. I'm curious. :) LaraLove 15:58, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Feedback

Thanks, Pedro! :) Not brutal at all. I generally don't take things like that personally, so I'm not worried about being opposed in an RfA for the sake of my feelings or ego or whatever. I just don't want to waste all that time if it's going to fail. I also fear that people will say my comments are often not admin-like as people apparently read into them an unintended tone. I tried using smilies to fix that, but then they came across as sarcastic. :/ So whatever. As I stated in my most recent editor review, it's not my style to be fake and participate in areas for which I have absolutely no interest whatsoever, like XfD, for the sake of tools. Particularly when I don't need the tools and would only be applying for them because I think the encyclopedia would benefit as I would use them constructively. As far as refuting opposes; The AIV oppose that would surely come up would certainly get attention from me. I don't think one needs X number of posts to AIV to get it. I mean, you do it right five times and you've got it down. It's not hard to figure out. And I certainly do a decent share of vandalism reverts. It's just not so often I encounter the 4th warning.

That aside, I had no idea that I had 70 deleted edits. Now I feel like a n0ob. How does one view their deleted edits (I'm sure admin tools are required for this)? So, is that to say that 15 articles I tagged for speedy delete were not deleted or they were deleted, thus was my edit? See, this is why I wouldn't have involvement there, at least not with the tools in use for a while. I don't care about that stuff, and I clearly don't know how all the inner-workings go.

Lastly, for broadening my horizon's, I know I need to do that. And I'm on my way. I'm getting burned out on GA and all the reviewing. So I'm not sure where I'll head, but I've got to get into something else. I'll still be at GA, because that's where my passion is here, but I need to focus elsewhere for some of my time for my own sake. LaraLove 12:50, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, yea. I would like to see the list. You can post it to my notebook subpage available from my nav bar on my user and talk pages. I appreciate it. LaraLove 13:44, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for blocking the vandal. As I said, buncha lunatics... Timothy Perper 09:37, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks x2

I should say thank you! Luckily tagging at CSD is often fairly easy, albeit mundane, although you do get to read a lot of nonsense. Thanks to Twinkle, which in fact automatically does everything for me. I might add that it seems I have a high user talk to mainspace ratio, and not that I am a fan of edit counting, but the kate tool does not count deleted edits, so all of the tagging on CSD articles actually are not counted by the tool. But the ones I leave on User Pages are, so hence the over exaggerated number there. See you around! Phgao 11:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support, eventually I do plan on going for admin, as I believe having the tools would allow me to further contribute and not add to the backlog on various pages, instead remove the backlog. I've also heard of this "admin revert", can you explain the difference of it and the normal revert? Oh and re: preferences, there is a difference of 350. Once again I add, no I'm not an "edit counter". Phgao 12:00, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need for administrative attention

Here's the issue. Fall Out Boy, the article which has gotten the most attention from me here on WP, has two images uploaded for the logo (Logo 1 & Logo 2). There has been a dispute between me and the uploader of both images regarding which should be used. And by dispute I mean he keeps reverting it without responding to messages on the talk page made by me as well as ignoring my edit summary messages. I went to WP:MUSTARD to get the opinion of others and was told that it is inappropriate to use either logo because it doesn't pass fair use considering it isn't an identifier for the band. They use different logos for different things, and they're really just the text/font from albums. I was directed to WP:LOGO. So should the images be deleted? LaraLove 13:55, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on it.......Pedro |  Chat  13:57, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks... for that and for the report on my subpage. Interesting to see. I didn't realize that edits got deleted when pages did. I thought the history was left intact. LaraLove 14:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage

Hey Pedro. I was curious if you wanted my to redesign your userpage, if so leave me a message on my talk page with a series of colors, themes, and maybe a picture or two you like. --Тhε Rαnδom Eδιτor 19:26, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great you should have your new and improved userpage by 8pm EST. --Тhε Rαnδom Eδιτor 19:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you will write me up a little introduction letter for your page, and send it to me as a email or if not via talk page, I will then use it in your design. --Тhε Rαnδom Eδιτor 19:52, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working on a really nice one for you, so I have to wait till tomorrow to complete it. Sorry. --Тhε Rαnδom Eδιτor 20:52, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request!

Could you please delete User:Giggy/monobook.js, and unprotect User:Giggy (then redirect it to my current userpage)? Thanks, Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 09:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, don't restore, just unprotect so I can recreate. Thanks, Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) (Drought) 09:16, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please delete the oldest edit, so it's just a redirect (obviously I don't quite get how salting works, but anyway :p). Thanks again for your help! Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) (Drought) 09:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
*sighs* - Could you also delete/unprotect User:Majorly/PT, which was cascading my old pages, and is now therefore cascading my userpage... Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) (Drought) 09:32, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Majorly's retired - click the userpage link. And I really would like to edit my userpage :) Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) (Drought) 09:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks mate. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) (Drought) 09:47, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little advice

Hey Pedro, I see that you have been making some good admin actions recently. However, I just wanted to remind you of something that I myself had an issue with when I first got the tools: when you speedy articles that contain offensive content, don't use the auto-summary, because that offensive material will still "survive"as such, live on, in your edit summary, forever. Example: this. Regards, -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 09:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not mean at all! :)

Hey, wanted to let you know, that your comment didn't come off as mean at all! :) I really appreciate the tips, and, thank you! :) SQL(Query Me!) 10:44, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barneca RfA thank you spam

Pedro, first a belated congratulations for your RfA, definitely a net gain for Wikipedia. Thank you for your support during my RfA, and for your continued support after the concerns were raised by other editors who you respect. I'll keep all of the comments in mind in the coming months, and will try again later, when I hope you'll find the decision much less difficult. In the mean time, if you see me doing something stupid, please let me know. See you around. --barneca (talk) 12:41, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem with the denial of speedy. I read it a couple of times, did some searches and decided it lacked importance but that's my opinion. I try to avoid Afd from my end as it is a cumbersome and cluttered process. I do give opinions on a sporatic basis so if the above is taken there by you, I will likely comment. Thanks for the input. --Stormbay 14:08, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
