Gul Mohammed (February 15, 1957October 1, 1997) of New Delhi, India, according to The Guinness Book of World Records, is the shortest adult human being whose existence and height has been independently verified.

On July 19 1990, he was examined by Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, India and he stood 57 cm (1 foot 10.5 inches) tall and weighed 17.0 kg (37.5 pounds). He died on October 1, 1997 from respiratory complications, due to heavy smoking.
