Wallis H. Clark (March 2, 1882 - February 14, 1961) was an actor, born in Essex, England. He died in North Hollywood, California. Clark holds the unique distinction of having appeared in more Academy Award Best Picture winners than any other actor or actress. He appeared in supporting roles in 136 films between 1931 and 1954. Five of these films won Best Picture: You Can't Take it With You, The Great Ziegfield, It Happened One Night, Mutiny On the Bounty, and Gone With the Wind. Not only is Clark the only person to have achieved this, but all of the runners-up (each with four Best Pictures) are now dead, so the record of five Best Pictures will likely go unchallenged for many years to come. The runners-up, each with appearances in four Best Pictures, are Bess Flowers (It Happened One Night, You Can't Take It With You, The Greatest Show On Earth, All About Eve) and Edwin Maxwell (You Can't Take It With You, The Great Ziegfield, Grand Hotel, All Quiet On the Western Front).
