"My Quarantine" is the 84th episode of the American sitcom Scrubs. It originally aired on February 8, 2005.
Plot
J.D. and Kylie go out on their first date, which ends up being a trip into the hospital. When they arrive, J.D. is showing Kylie around the Intensive Care Unit when he inadvertently tells her that a patient may have SARS. This causes an unexpected lockdown, where the main characters are stuck in the ICU for several hours.
To pass the time the staff discuss their bad experiences of first dates, which is how Turk learns that Carla once went on a date with Dr. Cox. The Janitor flips a cotton ball into a jar and Dr. Kelso bets he can't do it again. J.D. pays a homeless man to fake a heart attack so he can show off for Kylie. Later, he battles with his conscience and ends up revealing the truth.
Cultural references
- The scene where Jordan slides under the closing door and grabs her hat is a parody of a similar scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Also, when her hat comes off it lands on the floor the other side of the door, however when she goes back to get it, it is on the floor inside the ICU.
Goofs
- Despite having huge amounts of sedative in his system, the homeless guy can be seen walking out of the ICU during the end of the show.
