Brent Redstone is the son of Sumner Redstone, brother of Shari Redstone and grandson of Michael Rothstein whose family is the current owner of National Amusements Corporation based in Dedham, Massachusetts. Brent's father Sumner Redstone owns 80% of National Amusements Corporation (NAC) and Brent's sister Shari Redstone owns 20% of NAC. NAC owns Viacom which owns MTV, VH1, BET. NAC also owns CBS Corporation, Northeast Theatre Corporation which owns over 1000 movie theatres and also Midway Games.
