Kung Fu Kids is the first locally produced live-action anime which tell the story of seven kids of different personalities united by a prophecy. The program is also the first TV series to use "Motion Capture Animation Effects" in the History of Philippine TV. The series used the song Kung Fu Fighting on its series teaser. It began airing on January 28, 2008 back to back with Palos and Lobo, as part of ABS-CBN's new primetime block. [2]

Synopsis

Kung Fu Kids, helmed by Malou Sevilla and Richard Arellano, is the first locally produced the newest group of heroes will kick their way to your hearts live-action anime which tells the story of seven weak kids (Jarius Aquino, Eliza Pineda, Joshua Dionisio, Jane Oineza, Paul Salas, Kristopher Dangculos and Joseph Andrei Garcia) of different personalities united by a prophecy. They are led by Lembot (Jarius), the weakest and least confident of the bunch. About friendship, love for family and courage, the Kung Fu Kids trained under the village idiot (Sid Lucero) who turns out to be a Kung Fu Master from China, they’ve developed the abilities that enables them to fight the forces of evil. They will fight many battles and defend their loved ones from evil. The surprising thing about these kids is that they don’t have super powers; they were born with no extraordinary ability to overcome odds. To be able to do feats, they rely of discipline and focus.

ABS-CBN's "Kung Fu Kids", Jairus plays Lembot, an asthmatic and sickly nine-year old boy who dreams of learning Kung Fu or Chinese Martial Arts to defend his younger sister and himself & the people he loves from the neighborhood bullies, and to measure up to his father’s expectations. Unfortunately, he gets entangled in an ancient battle that endangers his family and friends. Under the tutelage of a Kung Fu Master, Lembot trains with other Kung Fu Kids to fight the forces of evil. See how challenging it would be as these exceptional kids deal with serious family issues and enjoy their lives as children while saving the world in secret. The kid’s desire to learn martial arts led him to be in the middle of an ancient battle until everyone close to him, his family and friends were placed in danger.

What is the connection of Fei and Master Kung to Lembot and the crazy man? Wu Lee also tasks Kung to hide the ruby heart of Shen Li Liang, a shining sacred jewel & a student named Fei sacrifices his life in protecting the Shen Li Liang.

The show is currently the most-watched program in the Philippines according to NUTAM ,with 37.1%.[6] In addition, the show got 26.6% on it's pilot episode in Mega Manila area.[7]
