Kung Fu Fighting is a pop and disco song written by Carl Douglas in 1974 , produced by Appaiah Biddu and part of the album Kung Fu Fighter .

history

Originally, Kung Fu Fighting was planned as the B-side of the single Gamblin 'Man , but at the request of the record company it was used as the A-side.

The song was an international success and a number one hit in many countries. It reached number one in the German , Austrian , English and American singles charts as well as number two in Switzerland and number three on the Billboard Disco Singles . More than nine million singles have been sold worldwide. In the German version of the globally successful television series Kung Fu (1972-75), the song is played as the theme music and in the credits. For the 30th and 40th anniversary of the song, an album with 16 remixes of the song was released in 2004 and 2014 on the Hamburg label Echo Beach .
