Are you still up for Burkina Faso? I was going to continue, I completed one of them ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:06, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the lack of contact/editing, I've been away from the PC for a while and have been elsewhere. I'll be away again from tomorrow until 31st July, heading on holiday to eastern Zakynthos. On a brighter note, I have expanded Kasungu. I'll hopefully be editing regularly in August. Regards, EJF (talk) 15:40, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:05, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hi. Whether over a 100 people support me or not, there will indeed be several dozen 12 year olds and uber deletionists who I have told to bugger off in the past who will turn up to join the oppose list. "Several dozen opposes" would just seem to indicate that my dedication and involvement to wikipedia is not relevant. Remember I am my own man and under no obligation to have to serve under anybody or have to edit in a strict way. If I had wanted to be an admin I would have accepted the candidacy back in Christmas 2006 not at his late date. SPECTRE is an independent fraternity!! I would have very little to gain from being an admin and just have a mop and bucket like 1500 of the others. Yes that Polish fracas doesn't surprise me. ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:53, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! Yes I've just responded at the village pump. I don't know if you feel the same way but it seems to more people are trying to help expand wikipedia or the bigger their task at improving the site the more criticism or outrage they seem to arouse. ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:17, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hope so too. I got that Burkina Faso book weeks ago and while it was useful for some articles I was a little disappointed my it. I could probably expand a few of the smaller towns but a lot of the book is dedicated to hotel listing and travel services unfortunately. Eyewitness Guides or Lonely Planet are more attractive books I think ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back EJF. Glad to see what your doing with Burkina and Malawi. Since the bot doesn't seem to be running any time soon, I think it's safe to say we'll beat it. (: --I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 16:47, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds fantastic. You have the Lonely Planet guide for Malawi then? or were using google books? Access to 1,500,000 articles is fantastic and at $4 a month is very good indeed. I say absolutely go for it!. Not sure about Papayenga/Diambanga. Is it named like this on the site? I;d suggest a redirect from one or the other or link it as Papayenga (Diambanga). I'll try to get add a few Burkina Faso articles as I go along, but at present I'm bogged down with spanish translation. I still think we should focus on Burkina though as we did before. Good progress BTW with Comue Province ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:37, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes go ahead and buy that subscription. Of course I am too cheap for that, but could you tell Blofeld and I your password so we can all sign in under your name? I guess I'll continue with Burkina, I just have been working on Gabon-related articles like Leon M'ba, 1964 Gabon coup d'etat (this one is up at FAC now--please comment), and Jean-Hilaire Aubame and Cote d'Ivoire related articles like the monster articlle Felix Houphouet Boigny. Good job anyway! --I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 18:58, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
