Controversy
A June 2008 post on the Consumerist [1] website claims that employees at a California franchise outlet did not let a mother and child use the employee restroom. The child is then alleged to have soiled herself in the store. The company's CEO apologized to the child's mother who accepted it. The story quickly became popular on Digg, with over 5,000 votes in 24 hours[2].
According to a customer, she had even complained about the service of the store and the quality of its caramel apple products. When she had purchased an caramel apple from the store, she claimed the apple was rotten and complained about the item. However, instead of acknowledging the complaint, the store staff had called the mall security and had her escorted out of the store. [3]
