Northumbria Press is the book publishing arm of Northumbria University.

Northumbria University Press, based in Newcastle, publish a diverse list including language, photography, biography, travel and music.

Regional issues and concerns remain a focus for the Press. The ‘regional question’ has featured strongly on political and cultural agendas in recent years and the Press has targeted these as topics which would allow the Press to develop its own distinctive style and personality. The Press has developed a strong publishing programme, in various stages of production, which will consolidate and build upon our successes.

Nothumbria press are steadily growing as a company with the notable publishing of Sir Alan Beith’s autobiography, Alan Beith: A View from the North, which will be launched at the Lib Dem conference in September 2008.Other titles include Fishing and Folk: Life and Dialect on the North Sea Coast, combining dialect vocabulary and literature to explain the North Sea Coast and its social development, the final book in Bill Griffiths successful ‘Wor Language’ triology.

Past successes include a highly illustrated book on the band Franz Ferdinand (An A-Z of Franz Ferdinand) based on exclusive and up-to-date interviews and co-operation from the band and fans from around the world. [1]
