The Montenegro Stock Exchange (MNSE) is a stock exchange located in Podgorica, Montenegro. The MNSE was founded 1993, and is a member of the European Finance Convention Foundation. It is one of two principal stock exchanges in Montenegro, the other being the NEX Stock Exchange, also located in Podgorica.

Trading on the MNSE consists of short and long term securities, six privatization funds, bonds of old currency savings, and shares from government funds portfolios. The MOSTE Index is the principal stock index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange.

History

The Montenegro Stock Exchange was founded in 1993 by NLB Montenegrobanka, Pljevaljska banka, Beranska banka, Hipotekarna banka, Podgorička banka, Jugobanka, Nikšićka banka, Lovćen osiguranje and Agroosiguranje.

In January 2010, shareholders in the stock exchange approved a merger with NEX, creating a single stock exchange in Montenegro. The merger is expected to be complete within two to three months.[1]
