Mihály Flaskay (born May 18, 1982 in Debrecen) is a breaststroke swimmer from Hungary,[1] who was a silver medallist in the 50 m breaststroke (27.51) at the 2002 European Swimming Championships.[1] In the following year he captured bronze in the same event at the 2003 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
Flaskay studied at the University of Southern California. As a 2003 freshman, he was a three-time All-American and reached the finals of the 100y breast in his first NCAA Championships meet. Flaskay finished third in the 100 yd breaststroke in a USC record (53.23), and swam the breaststroke legs on the Trojans' seventh-place 200 yd medley relay – which set a school record in 1:27.54 – and sixth-place 400 yd medley relay. He also raced on Troy's 15th-place 200 yd and 400 yd free relays. flaskay became only USC's second freshman since David Wharton in 1988 to win a Pac-10 title as a freshman, taking the 100 yd breaststroke at the 2003 Pac-10s in 53.36.
