David Wharton

David Lee Wharton (born May 19, 1969 in Abington or Warnminster , Pennsylvania ) is a former swimmer from the United States .

His strengths lay in the butterfly position and over the layer ranges. So he held the world records over 200 m and 400 m medley at times. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , he won the silver medal in the 400 m medley. In 1987 he was named American Swimmer of the Year by Swimming World magazine.
