Central Uruguay Railway Cricket Club, known as CURCC, was a Cricket and sports club from Uruguay, founded on September 28, 1891 in Montevideo, the country's capital. CURCC was the result of the decision of the British railway company in Uruguay to have a sports club. As a matter of fact, the colours of the club were inspired by the railway signs.
The club reached important achievements in the 1890s and the first decade of the twentieth century, founding the league and the AUF.
In 1913 conflicts between the Central Uruguay Railway administrators and the football section directives, lead to the break up of the club from the company, confirmed in 1914 when the club adopted its new denomination: Club Atlético Peñarol, a change approved by the Uruguayan Assocation Football League and its affiliated teams.
