Martha Kearney

Martha Catherine Kearney (born October 8 1957) is a British broadcaster and journalist. She read Classics at St Anne's College, Oxford.

She has been Political Editor with BBC's Newsnight since 2000 and is also a presenter on BBC Radio 4's long-running Woman's Hour. She was a candidate to succeed Andrew Marr as BBC Political Editor in 2005 but lost out to Nick Robinson. Martha is married to Chris Shaw, journalist and senior programme controller on Channel Five television.
