Johnson Robin Cann FRS is a British geologist.

Life

He graduated from St John's College, Cambridge with a first class BA in 1959, and an MA in 1961. His earned a PhD at University of Cambridge Department of Earth Sciences, where he studied with Cecil Edgar Tilley, and a ScD in 1984.

He was J B Simpson Professor of Geology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He was Chairman of the Department of Earth Sciences at University of Leeds from 1989 to 1995.[1]
