Proof of the Man (人間の証明, Ningen no shōmei) is a Japanese film from 1977 starring George Kennedy and Yusaku Matsuda and directed by Jun'ya Satō. It was produced by Haruki Kadokawa.

Plot

A young black man (Joe Yamanaka) from New York is found murdered in a lift in a Tokyo hotel. A Japanese detective (Yusaku Matsuda) flies to America to investigate who he was and why he was killed. An American detective (George Kennedy) is assigned to help him. At the same time, the son (Koichi Iwaki) of a famous fashion designer (Mariko Okada), hits and kills a woman (Bunjaku Han), and runs away to New York.
