Scouting in Luxembourg (organization)

The Luxembourg Boy Scout Association (LBSA) is a federation of two Scout associations serving Luxembourg. Scouting in Luxembourg was founded in 1914 and became a member of WOSM in 1922. The LBSA has a membership of 4,869 Scouts (as of 2004).

The Association is open to all boys and girls without discrimination to race, religion or nationality. Its spiritual ideals are based on Christian beliefs and are recognized by the Catholic Church.

International activities are an important part of the Scout program. About 90% of of the Pioneer summer camps are held abroad. The older youth are involved in a large community development project in Senegal.

Scout Motto is Tri Zum Land, True To The Country.

The LGS is also member of the Bureau de Liaison des Associations Guides du Luxembourg.

In 1979, Mr. Nicolas Hosch was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting.
